LNG Peakshaving is a solution for gas shortages during peak hours. It is also an effective means of managing gas prices over a period of time and that helps with meeting the increasing demand for gas and power in many regions.

CFE is forced to burn liquid fuels at much higher prices, with a substantial impact on the environment in order to compensate for the shortages in gas supply.

Peak Shaving facilities that are connected to selected pipelines take gas from the line during high availability and low demand; this gas is liquefied and stored as LNG. During peak hours, when gas supplies fall and demand increases, the stored LNG is re-gassed and re-injected into the system.
